Finavia provides and develops airport services with a focus on safety, customer-orientation and cost efficiency in Finland. Finavia’s comprehensive network of 21 airports enables international connections from Finland — and to areas throughout Finland. In 2018, corporate revenue totalled MEUR 377 and the number of employees was 2,850. We serve Finnish and international consumers and business life by developing comprehensive connections in cooperation with our airline partners and other transport service providers.
Helsinki Airport is the leading long-haul airport and a popular European transfer hub for air traffic between Europe and Asia. Finavia served nearly 25 million passengers at its airports in 2018. Helsinki Airport reached the 20 million passenger milestone for the first time.
Finavia invests hundreds of millions of euros in developing its airports. Currently, Helsinki Airport is going through the biggest development programme in Finavia’s history, which will extend the capacity to serve 30 million passengers annually. We are investing 1 billion euro to build an airport of the future.
At Finavia, we care deeply about our customers. That is why serving passengers is at the heart of our strategy. Our aim is ambitious because we want to provide world-class services at our airports. Improving customer experience aims at four things: smoothly running processes, services that are high quality and up to date, comfortable and functional terminals, and friendly and context-sensitive customer service.
Finavia’s aim is safe and economic operation of airports and smooth air traffic that affects the environment as little as possible. In our environmental work, we set the bar high so as to minimise our airport operations’ negative impact on the environment. All our 21 airports are now carbon neutral.
